As a Noun: 1. A series of events or things that are considered as a single thing or process. English = continuum. 2. A range of different things that slowly change from one to the next, like the colours of the rainbow, or the frequencies of light waves or radio waves; it can also be a range of personality types, or mental conditions changing from one to another. English = spectrum. 3. A set of levels or numbers which are used in a particular system of measuring things. English = scale.
