General Definition: 1. A line or a flat surface which is level and always at the same height or distance relative to another surface, such as the ground, or the bottom of a page, or another line; or any thing (e.g., stage or podium) or action (levelling sand, flattening fabric) that can be easily associated with this in context. As a Verb or Adjective: 1. Used to describe, a line or a flat surface which is always at the same height relative to another surface, such as the ground, or the bottom of a page, or another line, and not at an angle to them. English = (be) horizontal, (be) level. Note: 1. One of the variants uses the ‘H’ handshape in the one-handed alphabet. It was originally only used for Signed English in education. In mathematics and geometry, it is used by some teachers and their deaf students to mean ‘horizontal’ specifically, i.e., the main sign and the other variant are commonly used for ‘level’ and ‘horizontal’ and thus have a more general meaning.
