As a Verb or Adjective:
1. To be a greater amount or number of something than before. English = (be) more.
As Modifier:
1. Used after a verb sign to mean that the action happens to a greater extent or continues to happen. English = more, and so on.
2. Used to introduce a piece of information which supports or emphasises the point you are making. English = what is more, moreover.
3. Used after a verb sign to mean that the action continues to happen after a certain point in time. English = and then, from then on.
