As a Verb or Adjective: 1. To move something into a particular place or position. English = put. 2. To put something into a place where it is normally kept, for example in a cupboard or in a drawer. English = put away. 3. When talking about money, to put a sum of money in a bank account, or to pay part of the price of something when you agree to buy it. English = deposit.
