As a Pointing Sign: 1. The sign is used immediately before or after a verb to mean the person the signer is addressing did the action of the verb alone (i.e., without anyone else present) or without the help of anyone else (i.e., the person is responsible for the action). English = yourself. 2. The sign can be used immediately before or after a verb (but usually after) to mean the action of the verb was done by the person the signer is addressing to the very same person and not by anyone or anything else, i.e., it makes the verb reflexive. English = yourself.
